In general a publication provides new scientific knowledge based on existing knowledge of the scientific community. An evolutionary approach considers a scientific paper as an IT product, that will be improved step by step and revised if new results on the topic are published. The concept of scientific papers as IT product incorporates the logic of argumentation and the IT method of data analysis, so that the replication of the experiment can be performed with the IT product. On the other hand the IT product can be integrated in a decision support system, so that the time span until new scientific results are used for decision support can be reduced. The presentation will presented the first steps of this approach and discusses the paper generation as first step for papers as an evolutionary IT product.
